A Message From The Head of Primary

Dear Parents and Carers,

We praise God for a smooth start to the year, with the students returning safe and well and excited to be reunited with friends after the break and starting the year with new teachers in new classrooms.

WELCOME
It is wonderful to welcome new families to the school - we pray for God's blessing on them as they settle in. Amongst these are twenty-one brand new Kinder students (including triplets). They are already shaping up to be a lovely class.

CLASSROOM TALK
With more students in their classrooms, Yrs 5, 3 and K are enjoying the benefits of either a full- or part-time teacher's aide. A blessing!

IN THE SWIM
The Swim Programme (Pri) has now commenced, with proficiency assessments taking place this week. The Swim School (Sports Option) commences next week, and the Swimming Carnival will be held next Wednesday (Feb 15). Zone qualifiers will travel to Tamworth on 24 Feb.

KINDER FEATURE
The Northern Star's Annual Kindergarten Supplement will be on sale soon. Our Kinder children will be photographed next Wednesday, with parents notified ASAP regarding the date of publication. Please notify the school immediately if you do not wish your child to be included.

UNIFORM NEWS
The weekly Inter-Class Uniform Competition has begun for the year. It's great to see that the vast majority of the students are now wearing our official Summerland Christian College socks. Thank you.
NOTE: These socks are now compulsory wearing (girls = everyday; boys = sport).

SAFETY FIRST
We would like to advise those families new to the school that the Primary children are not permitted to cross the road unless attended by an adult (a.m. or p.m.). It is therefore recommended that parents park on the school side of the road and come to the gate/fence to collect their children.
