A Message From The Secondary Coordinator

Dear Parents and Carers,

WELCOME BACK
Welcome back to everyone for 2012. I trust that the holiday period was refreshing and relaxing.

We give a special welcome to the new families joining us this year, including those in Yr 7. I look forward to a year of working together - parents, students and teachers - to develop not only academic success but also deeper relationships with each other in Christ.

SUCCESS AHEAD
I also look forward to a year where SCC can build on the success achieved in 2011. We are especially happy with the Yr 12 results which saw 7 students achieve Band 6 (or score over 90%) and one third of the students score 80%+ across the subjects studied.

HARD WORK REWARDED
Congratulations to the Music staff (who once again achieved excellent results) and Jadon Dymock who placed 2nd in the State for HSC Music. Our results in the HSC reflect the many hours of hard work that the teachers put in to prepare students, and shows that the students are well rewarded for their efforts.

YEAR 11/12 NEWS
Seniors undertaking compressed courses have been issued their first assessment tasks and need to be working to complete them by the due date/s. I pray that they apply themselves with diligence. I have been encouraged by the students' attitudes thus far.

* Senior students have received laptops that will assist them to complete their work. We pray these computers will be a blessing!
* The Yr 11/12 BAM (Building & Motivating) Camp takes place next week. It is designed to connect the students and give them encouragement as they start the year.

MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT
This was a beneficial time for all who attended. Such nights give you the chance to meet those responsible for the education of your children (the teachers), and can also be a good opportunity to learn about work expectations and requirements for the year. Did you miss the night? Please feel free to ring any teacher to set up a meeting.
