From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to school to all our students and families.

As usual, the school year began with a "bang" of frenzied activity. Putting 300 children and teenagers together in one place will do that! It is really exciting to see the College grow to 311 students, an increase of 22 students overall. God has blessed us with 163 in Primary and 148 in Secondary - this includes our biggest Yr 11 ever with 28 students.

We also thank God for the wonderful 2011 HSC results:

For the third year in a row, SCC has placed in the top 150 schools in the state based on HSC results. Praise God! Congratulations to Jadon Dymock: Second in the State in HSC Music.

We welcome Mr Joe McDonald to the secondary teaching staff. Mr McDonald's main teaching subjects are PDHPE and Business Studies. Mrs Alesha Dymock is on leave and is replaced this term by Mr Brad Dymock and Mr Michael Ravenscroft.

The school has had a facelift, thanks to Mr Langford and his team who have hard-surfaced the paths. Justin Kelly has completed painting in the Secondary block, and carpet has been laid in the Yr 1 room. The Yrs 2 and 3 carpets will be laid in the next few weeks.

On the 15th February the international author, musician and evangelist Sean Feutch (pronounced "Foit") will hold the "Lighting the Fire Conference" at the Grace Centre for the Secondary students. Mr Ellem was bold enough to contact and ask this renowned speaker to come to our College. We thank God for the fact that he accepted the invitation.

I look forward to an exciting year of faith and learning right across the College in 2012. Pray for hearts to be set on fire for God.

Neil Easter - Principal
